A member of the UK’s prestigious Russell Group of leading research-led institutions, The University of Sheffield is one of the world’s leading universities.
The Faculty of Engineering is one of the biggest and best providers of engineering research and education in the UK, with over 6,700 students. Our expertise is extensive, with seven academic departments and three interdisciplinary programme areas covering all the engineering disciplines.
We have the world’s experts undertaking research and teaching our students. This is underpinned by a firm commitment to growth and excellence, delivering the best facilities for our students to become the world-class engineers of tomorrow.
Through cutting-edge research and strong partnerships with industry leaders globally, such as Boeing, Siemens and Rolls-Royce, our academics tackle the biggest challenges facing the modern world through an increasingly collaborative and multidisciplinary approach.
The Faculty of Engineering at The University of Sheffield has been championing women to reach their goals in engineering since 2011. As one of just 18 universities to hold the Athena SWAN silver institutional Award, the University seeks to show the huge diversity of the engineering discipline; to break preconceived notions of what engineering is and to showcase our excellent Women in Engineering at The University of Sheffield. To this end we are delighted to have become an Educational Partner and to work with WES, to help inspire the younger generation and help raise awareness of Engineering as a career amongst women.
