Sara Turnbull

Sara Turnbull is a senior consultant with experience in project management, facilitation and research on the sustainable built environment and renewable energy. Sara is a Chartered Environmentalist and has an MSc in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies. Sara’s eclectic professional experience in the arts, environment and built environment helps her to sit 'between disciplines’ and integrate sustainability, allowing diverse teams to collaborate professionally.

For Arup Associates, Sara is currently leading work with the Urban Land Institute looking at the technical and societal changes needed to increase energy efficiency in existing buildings. In particular this work has focused on creating consensus across the broad spectrum of disciplines involved in retrofitting and working with these organisations to develop the business case for energy efficient retrofitting. Sara is on the Women’s Engineering Society Council, is Hon Sec of the Energy Institute London and Home Counties Branch and is the membership officer for the British Association of Monbusho Scholars.
