Job description

We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer for The Women's Engineering Society (WES) a small charity with an important role. WES has been working to support women in engineering for nearly a century and its agenda of diversity and inclusion is still relevant today as women remain underrepresented in STEM based professions.

WES is currently embarking on an exciting new growth phase and is seeking an experienced and confident CEO who has new ideas and can bring them to fruition, working with the President and the Board of Trustees to grow our income and reach and deliver our strategy.

You’ll have a solid background in relationship management, governance ideally from corporate and institutional sources and preferably in a charity environment. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a good understanding of the engineering sector and of diversity and inclusion challenges.

You will be responsible for building relationships with key partners and stakeholders, with overall responsibility for staff management, motivation and development. The role requires strong organisational and team-working skills, excellent written and oral communication and the ability to manage competing priorities.
